Refund policy

At Creative Habitus, we value transparency and want you to feel confident when purchasing from us. Many of our products are original artwork, handmade goods, or digital downloads, so our return policy is a little different from mass-produced retail stores.


Canadian law does not require businesses to accept returns for a change of mind, and under British Columbia’s Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, online sales rights are limited to issues such as non-delivery or misrepresentation. Accordingly, the following policy applies to all Creative Habitus purchases.


 

Physical Products (Artwork, Stationery, Handmade Goods)

 

  • Final Sale once opened or used: Due to the delicate and unique nature of our items, we do not accept returns on opened, used, or displayed products.

  • Case-by-case exceptions: Returns may be approved if:

     

    • the item arrives damaged in transit,

    • the wrong item was sent,

    • or the item was materially misrepresented in the listing (e.g. wrong size, colour, or medium).

     

    Process: If you believe your order qualifies, please email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number, photos, and a description of the issue. Approved returns must be sent back in original condition and packaging.

 


 

Digital Downloads

 

  • All digital sales are final once the file has been delivered (i.e. the download link is sent).

  • Refunds will only be considered if:

    • the file is corrupted or inaccessible,

    • the content is materially different from what was described, or

    • there was a technical error on our end.

     

  • To request a digital refund, please contact us within 7 days of purchase with details of the issue. If approved, we will disable access to the file before issuing a refund.

 


 

Original Artwork & Custom Pieces

 

  • Because these works are one-of-a-kind, returns are generally not accepted.

  • We may approve a return or refund if the piece was damaged during shipping or if it was clearly misrepresented in the listing.

  • Custom/commissioned pieces are final sale unless we have made an error.

 

 


 

Non-Delivery & Legal Rights

 

If your order never arrives, or if we fail to deliver within 30 days of purchase (or by any delivery date we’ve promised), you may have a right to cancel under BC’s Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act. In such cases, please contact us immediately, and we will refund you in full.

 


 

Refund Timing

Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 15 business days of us receiving the returned item (or once cancellation rights apply).
